Range of equipment for measuring the daily rate of finished watches and movements

The measurement is based on taking two images of the product spaced apart in time, which are time-referenced using a precision time base. The time indicated by the watch or movement in both states is given by the position of the hands, which is defined in the high-resolution image. The rate can thus be calculated using the difference between the state difference of the watch and the time difference defined by the time base.

The time calculation algorithm takes into account discontinuous displays (e.g., hand jumps) and display desynchronizations. The laboratory mode allows high-speed, continuous measurement of the position of the indicators to enable advanced analysis of the movement's operation.

New needle detection algorithm

The new generation of qmtprotime incorporates a new needle detection algorithm to handle overlaps and crossings, while improving detection accuracy and measurement speed.

Equipment suitable for production and laboratory

The qmtprotime's versatility meets the needs of precision control of your movements or watch heads in the laboratory and in production. It can be used on a watchmaker's bench or integrated into an automated cell.

High measurement accuracy

High-resolution color camera (5Mpix) with a fast acquisition speed. The camera is electrically synchronized with the time base and lighting in order to be able to time-stamp images with guaranteed accuracy.

High-performance optical system

The qmtprotime's lighting limits reflections on watch crystals and prevents shadows. Simplified control allows for quick and easy adjustment of contrast and brightness. The lighting adapts to any crystal shape thanks to its specific geometry.

Measurement algorithm

New, more robust and accurate vision tools improve time reading rates. They allow you to adapt your measurement inspections to a wide range of movements or finished watch heads.

Flexibility in the choice of computer hardware

Using a standard Windows 10 or 11 64-bit PC, a client PC can be used.

Creation of measurement inspections
Simplicity of creation
A new measurement inspection creation wizard guides you through configuring your watch or movement in minimal time and effort. It incorporates enhanced vision tools and algorithms incorporating artificial intelligence for high read rates. Measurement inspections are versioned with change traceability.
Measurement cycles
The product comes with basic measurement cycles, particularly those complying with ISO3159 (COSC), METAS N001 and Poinçon de Genève standards. Specific cycles can be easily added; they include the definition of the state measurements to be performed (number, conditions, etc.), as well as the calculations performed and any additional information entered.
Data management
Centralization of data
The new generation of qmtprotime integrates powerful data management that can be centralized for multiple devices. It is built around a database that can be easily integrated into your information system, allowing you to use and leverage measurements while respecting cybersecurity constraints, particularly regarding data security.
All status and performance measurements are thus available in real time for use and evaluation. Measurement planning is also integrated into this database, allowing you to carry out this planning in your system and transfer it to qmtprotime.
Multi-equipment measurement
qmtprotime equipment is now calibrated and individually configured to allow the use of the same measurement inspection across a fleet of equipment. The use of data centralization allows for very easy deployment of measurement inspections across all qmtprotime equipment. It is also possible to perform step measurements with status recordings taken on different equipment.
The equipment can operate locally or with centralized management on the network with automatic resynchronization in the event of a network problem.

Reference time and synchronization
A high-performance time base with synchronization
The qmtprotime integrates a time base with TCXO oscillator (drift 4msec/day) allowing a relative measurement of time. Other configurations on request can be integrated upon request.
Option: absolute time measurement with high precision
It is possible to connect the integrated time server to a GPS antenna to timestamp according to UTC time (< 1msec/day) or to synchronize it to an NTP network.

A history marked by innovation. qmt developed the Multimicro in 1991, which received an award from Crédit Suisse (motorized image analyzer with automatic microhardness measurement). In 2015, qmt won the Geneva Canton Innovation Award.
