QMT Group: Unity is strength

Ivan Meissner, head of the new structure, the Qualimatest and SAPHIR brings, answers some questions about the formation of the group, its opportunities and prospects.

Late last year Qualimatest announced the acquisition of SAPHIR. Can you back in a few words on this purchase?
The acquisition of SAPPHIRE integrated fully addressed in our growth strategy, especially to France. But beyond that, we mainly this "marriage" wanted because we complement each other to be in terms of expertise, products and markets felt. More importantly, we share many values, the synergies and the integration process within the QMT Group, the new company should be facilitated by the merger.

They spoke of complementarity in terms of know-how. What exactly is it? What is the specific contribution of Sapphire on this plan?
Those who work with us that Qualimatest has particular expertise in image processing solutions for quality control, which can be described as unique, and a large number of turnkey products such as measuring devices or machines sorting. Sapphire will bring its expertise in the field of the environment in LabVIEW application development as well as its expertise in acquisition and signal processing. Our partners have extensive experience in software products as well as a training center, which we of course the use of.

Qualimatest we know that a special expertise in the watch industry, automotive, medical and rail. One might imagine that the contribution of the Sapphire opens up prospects for development in other sectors, other markets?
This is a fact, and it is also one of the reasons that led to this acquisition. The development of cross-sectoral and geographical markets is clear in our goals. Each partner has strengths, special abilities, which we use and develop to the fullest. I brought these skills by SAPHIR in the field of acquisition and signal processing. These rare skills are so many ways to grow in markets such as aerospace, defense, energy and research.

It is envisioned that the sharing of expertise will lead to an important "Strike Force". What about in terms of R & D and innovation? Are there any projects of employees and Qualimatest and SAPHIR?
The QMT Group is a technical team of 24 people with complementary skills who are 18 certified. It is to be understood that our potential is important. Product development, including the expertise of both companies is also planned.
Also note that this merger allows us a number of structures and resources that will enable us to improve and reduce some cost sharing is not irrelevant to our efficiency.
