Qualimatest and EPFL develop innovative cosmetic control technology
Based in Plan-les-Ouates, the company specializes in industrial image processing systems Qualimatest participated in the development of the system QMTSubFace first aspect of the control device having a human and subjective dimension. She presented last week at the fair Simodec at Roche-sur-Foron.
This is a research project launched a few years just to reach: Jacques Jacot, a professor of Microtechnology at EPFL QMTSubFace was initiated carried out in collaboration with Qualimatest, with the participation of MPS (for realization of the prototype, as part of a CTI project) and one at a preliminary stage, of the University of Savoy (in the framework of an Interreg project).
According to Professor Jacot aesthetic control was extremely difficult to scientifically address. For him, "it is the aesthetics Oenology: it is always the person who determines what is well and good, acceptable or not." Hence the central idea of âEUR<âEUR
The development of new lighting methods, new image processing algorithms and classification were necessary for the completion of this long project.
